Puratone Records is a small label for jazz, blues and folk.  Acoustic instruments loved - recording done with honesty and clarity for the sound using the best of microphones and digital technologies we can afford.  Listening to the music….letting the sounds tell the story….simply and realistically.  The music is developed…CDs are released because we like the collection of work – an approach – an attitude – the project is worked on and played through in rehearsal and studio. Recorded live in one go whenever possible.  Re-mixes….yeah! take our work, our starting point – then obviously do what you like with it…..we might be traditional in some way….but communicate to a modern new audience who can hear the sounds in the music and can hear the history in the music….but we all want to dance, to be excited, to be happy, to celebrate….so re-mix and we will give you the results!

Economically….we give it a way…this is part-time or done for the musicians benefit…not for label profits or sales…so spread the word…give credit…pay the writers and be legal…join in and help…buy the CD for your shelf or share the music easily.

Lyn Acton, was Puratones first artist, she recently sold out the London Pizza Express. the Audience whipped up her take on Nova Jobim Songs with freshly translated lyrics. it was a night to remember for all involved.
